Hey romancers,

when was the last time you and your significant other brushed the dirt off your shoes and kicked it around the block for a few minutes? Walking around the neighborhood can sure seem like a chore after a day at the office, but give it a try.

Walking can help you relieve stress, unwind, get healthy, and most importantly, get close to your special someone.

I discovered this trick from my cousin who often takes walks with his girlfriend to shed stress and spend some time together.

A few weeks ago, after a long and painstaking day at the office, I offered up to my girlfriend that I wanted to walk with her around the neighborhoods, possibly grab some ice cream or just around the park.

She couldn’t wait to go for it!

At around 7 p.m., we headed out, walking nearly 2 miles, and I hardly noticed the time fly by as we walked through parks and streets and chatted about our days and families and … you know the rest.

On the way home, we even ran across a jazz band that was playing on the lawn of one of our neighbors. We didn’t stop by, but on a nice summer evening, capping a walk with some nice live jazz really seemed to some up what we all need - just some time to spend with one another (and a little exercise, too!).
