Welcome to Zen Romance, a site dedicated to helping you infuse little bits of romance in this often time-crunched world. While many of us slave away at keyboards, kitchens and whatever else keeps you busy, making others and ourselves feel special often gets overlooked. Let’s build a more romantic world together.
I’m Smithy, a web journalist, blogger and company communications director. Needless to say, I don’t have a whole lot of time to time to make my special someone feel like number one. So I have to make the moments I do have count.
Pick up some of my tips about what to do and what not to do and when. Feel free to share your tips too. We’re in it together folks. Share the love and help keep our loved ones and ourselves feeling butterflies.

Romance has alot more success when it is shared on a daily basis. Not that taking a lover’s weekend get away, a special day, an afternoon, an evening is not highly recomended, more like when those special time do come, you are not wasting so much time just trying to find again the love bond that you do share, the one that has been neglected for days.
My point is, romance does not always have to be so time consuming. To me, romance is just another word for “thoughtfull/kindness”, they are those “sweet nothings”, the “forget me nots”. It only takes a 10 second kiss to feel that bond again at the end of the day when you greet each other home.
It only takes 2 seconds to look deep into our loved one’s eyes and say I love you in a none routine sort of way, to add a little oomff in your hug. Just search the web for romantic tips, you’ll have all kinds of suggestions. There are also so many wonderful books for ideas.
